The Anaheim Ducks and the Seattle Kraken meet in NHL action from Climate Pledge Arena on Thursday night.
The Anaheim Ducks will be out to build on their 5th straight win after a 3-2 overtime win over Vancouver in their last game. Troy Terry leads the Ducks with 16 points including a team-high 9 goals while Ryan Getzlaf and Kevin Shattenkirk each have 12 points with Getzlaf logging a team-high 11 assists while Shattenkirk has a team-best +6 plus/minus rating. Adam Henrique has 11 points with 5 goals and 6 assists while Isac Lundestrom and Cam Fowler each have 10 points with Lundestrom posting a +6 plus/minus as well. Terry has a team-high 3 power play goals while Shattenkirk has a team-high 7 power play points, all coming on assists. John Gibson’s made 10 starts in goal for Anaheim, going 6-2-2 with a 2.35 GAA and a .927 save percentage while Anthony Stolarz is 1-2-1 with a 2.98 GAA and a .912 save percentage this season.
The Seattle Kraken will try to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 4-2 loss to the Golden Knights in their last game. Jordan Eberle has 9 points with a team-high 7 goals while Alex Wennberg, Brandon Tanev and Jaden Schwartz each have 8 points with Tanev logging 6 goals while Wennberg has a team-high 7 assists. Schwartz also has 6 assists on the year. Philipp Grubauer’s made 10 starts for the Kraken in goal, going 4-5-1 with a 2.97 GAA and an .886 save percentage this season.
Anaheim is 18-37 in their last 55 games overall and 1-4 in their last 5 road games while the over is 24-9 in their last 33 division games. Seattle is 1-4 in their last 5 games overall and 0-4 in their last 4 division games while the over is 3-0-1 in their last 4 games as a favorite.
I could understand home ice playing a role in the Kraken being favored, but this price is a bit much considering Seattle hasn’t been THAT great to start their season. Anaheim’s playing well right now and I think at worst they keep this to a one goal game, so give me the Ducks +1.5 here.
