Ottawa Senators Betting Preview

The Ottawa Senators are 7-5-3 this year after they defeated Philadelphia in overtime by a score of 3-2 in their last game. Prior to that game, Ottawa lost to the Bruins by a score of 3-2 and the Canadiens by a score of 4-3. The Senators have lost two of their last three games and they are currently sixth in the Atlantic standings with 17 points. Ottawa has scored 3.43 goals per game and they have allowed 3.86 goals against per game, while also going 26.0% on the power play and 65.1% on the penalty kill this season. The projected starting goalie for Ottawa is Leevi Merilainen, who is 1-1-0 with a 4.57 goals against average and an .833 save percentage this year.

The Utah Mammoth are 9-6-0 this season after they lost to Montreal by a score of 6-2 in their last game. Utah led 1-0 and 2-1, but they allowed the last five goals to let the game slip away for the loss. Senators vs Mammoth Prediction

Ottawa was able to get the overtime win on Saturday to snap their small losing streak, but each of their last four games has gone to overtime or a shootout. The Senators are 4-2-1 at home this year, while the Mammoth are 5-5-0 on the road. Utah has lost four of their last five games and they have allowed at least four goals in all four of those losses. I do think we could see a higher scoring game with the backup goalies in net, but I lean towards Ottawa, who has been very competitive in their last four. Take the Senators here.
