The Anaheim Ducks and the St. Louis Blues meet in NHL action from the Enterprise Center on Friday night.

The Anaheim Ducks will look to bounce back from a 3-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild in their last matchup. Rickard Rakell leads the Ducks in scoring with 21 points including a team-high 15 assists while Max Comtois has 20 goals split between a team-high 10 goals and 10 assists this season. Adam Henrique’s got 9 goals with 6 assists for his 15 points while Ryan Getzlaf, Cam Fowler and Kevin Shattenkirk each have double-digit assists this season. As a team, Anaheim is averaging 2.1 goals on 27.6 shots per game with an 11.4% success rate on the power play while allowing 3.3 goals on 29.1 shots against with a 75.5% success rate on the PK this season.

The St. Louis Blues will be out to rebound from a 2-0 loss to the Wild as well in their last matchup. David Perron leads the Blues in scoring with 33 points including 12 goals and a team-high 21 assists while Ryan O’Reilly has 31 points with 21 assists of his own and Brayden Schenn has 24 points split between a team-high 12 goals and 12 assists. Jordan Kyrou’s also got 10 goals with 14 assists while Mike Hoffman and Torey Krug each have double-digit assists as well this year. As a team, St. Louis is averaging 3 goals on 29 shots per game with a 19.1% success rate on the power play while allowing 3.2 goals on 29.9 shots with a 73.3% kill rate on the PK this season.

Anaheim is 24-51 in their last 75 road games and 16-36 in their last 52 games overall while the under is 3-1-1 in their last 5 games playing on 1 days’ rest. St. Louis is 5-16 in their last 21 home games and 1-6 in their last 7 games as a home favorite while the over is 3-0-1 in their last 4 games played on no rest. The road team is 13-3 in the last 16 meetings between these two teams.

I get why the Blues would be favored here but I also understand the allure of all of the plus money when one bounce could put Anaheim in the driver’s seat and St. Louis hasn’t been all that convincing this season. With that said, I think this game ands up being a battle and I just think that with these are two teams that have scored, and given up, their fair share of goals lately, so give me the over in this one.
