The Colorado Avalanche and the St. Louis Blues meet in NHL action from the Enterprise Center on Thursday night.
The Colorado Avalanche come into this game looking to shake off a 3-1 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights in their last matchup. Nathan MacKinnon leads the Avs with 6 points including a team-high 5 assists while Bowen Byram and Mikko Rantanen each have 5 points with Rantanen logging a team-high 3 goals while Byram has 4 assists and a +3 plus/minus rating, sharing the top spot in that category with Erik Johnson. Darcy Kuemper’s made the majority of starts in goal for Colorado, going 2-3 with a 3.22 GAA and a .900 save percentage.
The St. Louis Blues will look to remain unbeaten after improving to 5-0 with a 3-0 win over L.A. last time out. David Perron and Jordan Kyrou each have a team-high 8 points with Perron logging a team-high 6 goals as well as leading the Blues with 4 power play points and 3 power play goals while Kyrou has a team-high 6 assists. Vladimir Tarasenko has 6 points with 3 goals and 3 assists while Robert Thomas and Torey Krug each have 5 assists. Ivan Barbashev also leads the Blues with a +6 plus/minus rating this season. Jordan Binnington’s made the majority of St. Louis’ starts in goal, going 4-0 with a 2.75 GAA and a .919 save percentage while Ville Husso has a shutout in his lone start this season for the Blues.
Colorado is 1-5 in their last 6 road games and 5-2 in their last 7 games as a road favorite while the over is 7-1-1 in their last 9 games against the Central division. St. Louis is 7-3 in their last 10 home games and 48-22 in their last 70 games following a win while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games as an underdog.
You could make a case either way here, but I’m leaning towards the over in this one. There’s a boatload of talent on both sides, especially Colorado’s top line with MacKinnon, Rantanen and Landeskog, while St. Louis has had no issues putting the puck in the net this season. I think we have a barnburner on our hands in this one, so give me the over.
