The Seattle Kraken and the Tampa Bay Lightning meet in NHL action from the Amalie Arena on Tuesday night.
The Seattle Kraken will look to build on a 5-2 win over Florida last time out. Andre Burakovsky leads Seattle in scoring with 27 points including a team-high 17 assists while Jordan Eberle has 23 points with 7 goals and 16 assists and Matty Beniers has 23 points with 11 goals and 12 assists. Jared McCann also has a team-high 12 goals this season for Seattle. Martin Jones has gone 13-5-2 with a 2.91 GAA and an .890 save percentage while Philipp Grubauer is 2-3-1 with a 3.21 GAA and an .882 save percentage in goal for Seattle this season.
The Tampa Bay Lightning will try to build on a 4-1 win over the Panthers in their last game. Nikita Kucherov leads the Lightning with 39 points including a team-high 28 assists while Steven Stamkos has 33 points with a team-high 15 goals on the year. Brayden Point also has 28 points with 14 goals and 14 assists while Mikhail Sergachev has 25 points with 5 goals and 20 assists this season. Andrei Vasilevskiy is 11-8-1 with a 2.66 GAA and a .911 save percentage while Brian Elliott is 6-1 with a 3.39 GAA and an .895 save percentage so far between the pipes for Tampa Bay.
Seattle is 7-1 in their last 8 road games and 6-1 in their last 7 games following a win while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record. Tampa Bay is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall and 5-1 in their last 6 games when their opponent scores 5 goals or more in their previous game while the under is 7-2-1 in their last 10 games against the Pacific division.
I get the case to be made for the Kraken in the underdog role as they have provided some serious value on the road this season. However, the Kraken have started to stumble in recent games and that’s not what you want going into Tampa Bay to take on the Lightning. The Lighting have owned the pair of matchups against the Kraken going back to last year and I’m seeing nothing right now to suggest we deviate from that. Give me the Bolts -1.5 here.
