The Buffalo Sabres and the Vancouver Canucks meet in NHL action from Rogers Arena on Saturday night.

The Buffalo Sabres will look to build on back-to-back road wins after a 6-3 win over the Calgary Flames last time out vaulted Buffalo to 3-1 on the year as a result. Alex Tuch and Rasmus Dahlin each have 6 points with Tuch logging a team-high 5 goals while Dahlin has 4 goals and a pair of assists. Vinnie Hinostroza and JJ Peterka each have 4 points with Hinostroza logging 4 assists while Peterka has a pair of goals and a pair of assists. Casey Mittelstadt and Dylan Cozens each have 3 points with a goal and a pair of assists as wel this season. Eric Comrie’s gone 2-1 with a 3.01 GAA and a .930 save percentage while Craig Anderson’s 1-0 with a 1.00 GAA and a .972 save percentage so far in goal for Buffalo this season.

The Vancouver Canucks will try to bounce back after falling to 0-3-2 with back-to-back OT losses following a 4-3 defeat at the hands of the Minnesota Wild last time out. Elias Pettersson has a team-high 6 points with 3 goals and 3 assists while Bo Horvat and Quinn Hughes each have 5 points with Horvat logging a team-high 4 goals while Hughes has a team-high 5 assists. Brock Boeser also has 4 assists while J.T. Miller has 2 goals with an assist and Tanner Pearson and Oliver Ekman-Larsson each have 3 assists this season. Thatcher Demko’s gone 0-3-1 with a 4.30 GAA and an .861 save percentage while Spencer Martin’s 0-0-1 with a 3.79 GAA and an .879 save percentage so far this season in goal for Vancouver.

I get the reasoning for wanting to back a team on home ice, but the Canucks have now choked up leads in each of their first five games of the year and are now catching a Sabres team that’s been dominant on their Western road trip so far, posting wins over the Oilers and Flames coming into this one. Bottom line is I’m not laying any sort of juice with the Canucks in their current form, so give me the Sabres and the plus money here.
