The Florida Panthers and Vegas Golden Knights meet Tuesday in game 5 of the NHL Stanley Cup Final at the T-Mobile Arena. Let’s preview this game and give out a pick and prediction.
Florida Panthers Betting Preview
The Florida Panthers are averaging 2.95 goals per game and are scoring on 21.4 percent of their power play opportunities. Matthew Tkachuk leads Florida with 11 goals, Aleksander Barkov has 11 assists and Brandon Montour has 72 shots on goal. Defensively, the Florida Panthers are allowing 3.00 goals per game and are killing 70 percent of their opponent’s power plays. Alex Lyon has given up 12 goals on 107 shots faced, and Sergei Bobrovsky has allowed 46 goals on 608 shots.
Vegas Golden Knights Betting Preview
The Vegas Golden Knights are averaging 3.76 goals per game and are scoring on 22.2 percent of their power play opportunities. Jonathan Marchessault leads Vegas with 13 goals, Jack Eichel has 17 assists and Reilly Smith has 49 shots on goal. Defensively, the Vegas Golden Knights are allowing 2.57 goals per game and are killing 71.2 percent of their opponent’s power plays. Laurent Brossoit has given up 23 goals on 216 shots faced, and Adin Hill has allowed 30 goals on 453 shots.
The Panthers are 12-3 in their last 15 road games and 12-4 in their last 16 overall. The Golden Knights are 20-6 in their last 26 home games and 37-15 in their last 52 overall. The under is 10-3 in Panthers last 13 overall. The over is 4-1 in Golden Knights last 5 overall. The Panthers are 0-7 in the last 7 meetings in Vegas and 3-8 in the last 11 meetings. The home team is 12-2 in the last 14 meetings. The favorite is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings.
The Florida Panthers have proven they can win on the road, and they came back down 3-1 to the Bruins in these playoffs, so I can understand why the plus money is worth a look. However, Vegas has been the more physical, successful team through 4 games and the Panther's only win came with some last minute magic. This series could easily be over. Also, Matthew Tkachuk is dealing with a shoulder injury and cant log his normal minutes. You can argue the Golden Knights should be steeper favorites. Give me the home team.
Of course, if this is the end, see you folks in a few months for more NHL coverage!
