The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Vegas Golden Knights meet in NHL action from the T-Mobile Arena on Monday night.
The Toronto Maple Leafs will look to build on back-to-back wins and wins in four of five to improve to 4-2 on the year after a 4-1 win over Winnipeg last time out. John Tavares has a team-high 7 points with a team-high 3 goals and 4 assists while Auston Matthews and William Nylander each have 6 points with Matthews logging a team-high 5 assists while Nylander has 3 goals and 3 apples as well. Mitch Marner, Morgan Rielly and Michael Bunting each have 5 points with Rielly logging 5 assists of his own while Marner has 4 apples and Bunting has a pair of goals and 3 helpers as well this season. Ilya Samsonov’s 4-0 with a 1.73 GAA and a .938 save percentage in goal for Toronto so far this season.
The Vegas Golden Knights will try to find some consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their last four games after a 3-2 loss to Colorado dropped the Golden Knights to 3-2 on the year. Jack Eichel has a team-high 7 points with 3 goals and 4 assists while Jonathan Marchessault has 6 points with a team-high 5 goals. Chandler Stephenson, Mark Stone and Alex Pietrangelo each have 5 points with Pietrangelo logging 5 assists while Stone has 4 apples and Stephenson has a pair of goals and 3 assists as well this season. Logan Thompson’s gone 2-2 with a 2.29 GAA and a .926 save percentage while Adin Hill is 2-0 with a 2.00 GAA and a .934 save percentage as well this season.
I could easily make a case for either side here, but I really like the under a lot in this game as these are two high-powered offenses, but the Golden Knights are 2nd in goals against per game while the Leafs allow the second-fewest shots per game and that’s with solid goaltending as well on both sides with Logan Thompson for Vegas and Ilya Samsonov emerging as the top guy for Toronto. I think this has 3-2 written all over it whichever way it ends up going, so give me the under here.
