The Colorado State Rams and the Air Force Falcons meet in Mountain West conference college basketball action from the Clune Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The Colorado State Rams will be looking for their first road win of the season after losing 3 of their last 4 games following a 70-68 loss to Boise State in their last outing. Kris Martin led the Rams with 13 points on 5 of 11 shooting with 3 threes while Nico Carvacho and J.D. Paige each added 12 points. Carvacho shot 6 of 12 with a game-high 16 rebounds along with 6 assists and a pair of blocks while Paige added 7 rebounds to match his team-high 7 assists along with a pair of steals. Anthony Masinton-Bonner added 11 points with a pair of triples to round out the group of double-digit scorers for the Rams in the losing effort. Carvacho leads the Rams by averaging a double-double per game with 15.2 points and 12.6 rebounds per game while Kendle Moore leads Colorado State in assists with 2.9 assists per game this season. As a team, Colorado State is averaging 74.9 points per game on 46.4% shooting from the field, 35.4% from behind the 3-point line and 70% from the foul line this season.

The Air Force Falcons will look for some form of consistency after splitting their last 10 games following a 66-51 loss to San Diego State in their last outing. Lavelle Scottie led the Falcons with 22 points on 9 of 18 shooting while A.J. Walker added 10 points on 4 of 10 shooting with a pair of threes as the only other Air Force player to score in double figures in the losing effort. Sid Tomes was held scoreless but led the Falcons with 5 rebounds and 4 assists as well in the defeat. Scottie leads Air Force in scoring with 14.3 points per game while Tomes leads the Falcons in assists with 2.7 assists per game and Ryan Swan leads Air Force on the glass with 6.6 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Air Force is averaging 67.5 points per game on 45.8% shooting from the field, 31.8% from behind the 3-point line and 68.6% from the foul line this season.

Colorado State is 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall and 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 road games while the over is 20-9 in their last 29 conference games. Air Force is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a loss while the over is 7-0 in their last 7 games against a team with a losing record. The favorite is 9-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings between these two teams, the home team is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings and Colorado State is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings between these two teams.

Colorado State has won 13 of the last 15 meetings with Air Force, so it’s a bit odd to see the Rams an underdog here. However, It’s hard to back Colorado State knowing that the Rams have yet to win a road game this season and even though the Rams are 4-1 ATS on the road, Colorado State is being outscored by 12.9 points per game on the road this season. Air Force has had issues with consistency but this should be a game that Air Force can use to build some momentum and pick up some consistency, so I’ll lay the bucket with Air Force in this one.

Pick:
Air Force -2
