Wednesday college basketball brings us out west where the Air Force Falcons host the Denver Pioneers.
The Denver Pioneers have struggled to get stops of late which has led to three consecutive losses following a 98-75 defeat at Utah Valley on Saturday as an eight point underdog. Denver trailed by 18 at the break and never mounted a come back with a 53.4%-43.3% shooting edge along with nine more makes at the stripe.
The Pioneers received 20 points, six rebounds and two steals from Ronnie Harrell Jr. on 7-12 accuracy including 4-6 on threes with Ade Murkey tossing in 17 points on 6-13 from the floor. David Nzekwesi gave Denver ten points on 2-2 shooting and 6-9 at the stripe followed by Alperen Kurnaz with nine points on 4-4 from the field.
The Air Force Falcons were denied back to back wins in an 82-69 loss at Pacific as six point underdog on Saturday. Both teams connected at round 53% but Pacific went 10-22 from beyond the arc and owned a 16-10 advantage at the charity stripe to win comfortably.
Ryan Swan was the Falcons top weapon with 23 points and six rebounds on 8-10 marksmanship and 5-7 at the line with Caleb Morris adding 15 points and five boards on 6-13 from the floor. Pervis Louder and Lavelle Scottie gave Air Force ten points each while Ameka Akaya chipped in with eight points.
Denver Pioneers are 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 non-conference games and are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 road games and are 0-5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. Air Force Falcons are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. Summit andare 9-3 ATS in their last 12 home games and are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall.
It’s tough seeing Air Force as a favorite but this looks like a good spot for them…
