The Kent State Golden Flashes go on the road to face the Akron Zips in MAC college basketball action.

The Kent State Golden Flashes have won five of six after squeezing by Miami (OH) 70-67 on Tuesday as a four point home favorite.

Kent State held a nine point edge after 20 minutes before holding off the Redhawks in the second half behind a 21-23 effort at the line.

Jaylin Walker was the Golden Flashes go to scorer with 27 points and nine rebounds while Akiean Frederick added 12 points and five pulls.

Antonio Williams tossed in eleven points with four yanks with Anthony Roberts and Jalen Avery giving Kent State eight and six points.

The Akron Zips never found their offense in a 63-52 loss at Toledo on Tuesday which put an end to a three game winning streak.

Akron managed only 20 first half points to trail by nine with just 28.1% from the floor not being able to compete with the Rockets 40%.

Tyler Cheese gave the Zips a chance with 19 points and six boards with Daniel Utomi adding eleven points and eleven rebounds.

Loren Cristian Jackson tossed in another eleven points followed by Channel Banks who gave Akron six points and three yanks.

Kent State Golden Flashes are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS loss and Kent State Golden Flashes are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 road games. Akron Zips are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games overall and Akron Zips are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games.Under is 15-5-1 in the last 21 meetings and Kent State Golden Flashes are 5-2-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings in Akron.

Akron plays their share of close games and I think Kent State will keep this close and have a shot at the upset...

Pick:
Kent State +5

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
