The Alabama State Hornets host the Alcorn State Braves in a SWAC college basketball matchup.

The Alcorn State Braves have been playing their best basketball with three straight victories after upending Alabama A&M 80-60 on the road. Alcorn State burned the nets at 53.6% and gave up 35.1% shooting for a difference of ten baskets. 

Maurice Howard lead all scorers with 22 points on 7-10 from the floor with AJ Mosby giving the Braves 20 points and seven rebounds. Alcorn State received 15 points and nine rebounds from Yalen Reed while Troymain Crosby added 12 points and eleven rebounds.

The Alabama State Hornets have picked up their game of late with three consecutive road wins before a 71-67 loss to Southern ended the run. Alabama State held a small 42.3%-39.6% shooting edge but Southern held a decisive 23-18 advantage at the stripe. 

Reginald Gee kept the Hornets within striking distance with a contest high 21 points and seven rebounds followed by Jacoby Ross with 12 points and seven assists while Gene Davis and Fausto Pichardo combined for 17 points.
