The Georgia State Panthers faceoff with the Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuesday college basketball action.
The Alabama Crimson Tide saw a three game winning streak come to an end in a 70-64 loss at the hands of Central Florida. Alabama was outshot 46.7%-37.9% with Central Florida holding a 23-9 advantage at the stripe to negate 21 more looks at the basket.
The duo of Alex Reese and Kira Lewis Jr. gave the Crimson Tide 14 points each on 11-25 from the field. Alabama received nine points, nine rebounds and two blocks from Donta Hall while Herbert Jones and John Petty combined for 12 points and 14 rebounds.
The Georgia State Panthers saw a two game winning streak come to an end in a 78-52 loss at Liberty on Saturday. This game was tight until the Flames exploded in a 46-23 second half run. Liberty fired away at 51.9% including 13-25 from beyond the arc and Georgia State could only connect at 40%.
D’Marcus Simonds was the Panthers only double digit scorer with 22 points on 8-18 from the floor and 5-8 at the stripe. Georgia State received nine points from Kane Williams on 3-7 shooting and 3-5 at the foul line followed by an eight point, four board, two block performance from Malik Benievi on 3-6 shooting.
Georgia State are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 vs. Southeastern and Georgia State are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 Tuesday games and under is 15-7 in Georgia State last 22 non-conference games. Alabama are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games overall and under is 6-2 in Alabama last 8 vs. Sun Belt and under is 36-15 in Alabama last 51 home games.
I think the Crimson Tide have navigated a tricky schedule well and Georgia State has been tough to figure out but I will take the points…
