The Washington Capitals head to the west coast for a Sunday NHL tilt at the Anaheim Ducks.
The Washington Capitals are eyeing back to back wins after downing San Jose 5-1 on Thursday. Kevin Labanc gave San Jose a 1-0 lead in the first but Martin Jones allowed four goals on 28 shots to get the loss.
TJ Oshie tallied twice for Washington with Jakub Vruna, Alex Ovechkin and Tom Wilson finding the scoring column. Nicklas Backstrom gave the Capitals a pair of helpers and Braden Holtby recorded 25 saves to get the win.
The Anaheim Ducks are looking at eight of nine following a 3-0 loss to visiting Boston on Friday night. Anaheim didn’t get in the scoring column and Kevin Boyle fell to 1-1-0 with two goals allowed on 28 shots.
The Bruins received scoring from Noel Acciari, Jake DeBrusk and Chris Wagner. Sean Kuraly added two helpers for Boston and Jaroslav Halak upped his record to 15-9-4 with a 30 save performance.
