Appalachian State Mountaineers PK O/U: 162.5
The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks and the Appalachian State Mountaineers will meet up on the college basketball court Saturday.
Louisiana-Monroe enters this game with an 11-9 mark on the year. Following consecutive wins over Louisiana and Troy, the Warhawks have dropped their last pair versus South Alabama and Coastal Carolina.
In the loss to the Chanticleers, ULM’s top scorer was Travis Munnings on 23 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Daishon Smith had a nice effort for the Warhawks in that one as well with 21 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Over on the Appalachian State side, they’re 7-14 this season. The Mountaineers had a seven-game losing streak going last month, but they’ve won their last two games versus Little Rock and Louisiana.
In the win over the Cajuns, App State’s Tyrell Johnson led the charge on 20 points, two rebounds and one assist in just 16 minutes of action. Justin Forrest added 17 points for the Mountaineers there, and Isaac Johnson doubled up with 10 points and 14 boards.
The Warhawks are 4-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 7-2 ATS in their last nine overall. ULM is 6-2 ATS in their last eight versus the Sun Belt and 23-11 ATS in their last 34 after an ATS loss.
Meanwhile, the Mountaineers are 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the Sun Belt. App State is 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 Saturday games and 5-21 ATS in their last 26 after an ATS win.
The Warhawks have looked a little sketchy over their last several games, but the good news is that their scoring has stayed pretty consistent on a nightly basis. ULM has put up at least 72 points in every game since their loss to LSU on December 28.
That said, App State has been good in that department as well, with at least 72 points in each of their last four. I anticipate a big points total here, so the over makes sense, but I don’t quite think the home lift will propel the Mountaineers to a cover. I’m going with Louisiana-Monroe here.
