Appalachian State Mountaineers +3 O/U: 149
The Texas State Bobcats and the Appalachian State Mountaineers will match up on the college basketball circuit Saturday.
Texas State is sitting at a nice 13-3 so far. The Bobcats are 3-1 in the last four games, falling to Georgia State but otherwise taking out Howard Payne, Georgia Southern and Coastal Carolina.
In the win over the Chanticleers, Texas State’s Alex Peacock led the team on 13 points, six rebounds and two assists. Nijal Pearson (12 points; seven rebounds) and Eric Terry (10 points) were also in double-figures for the Bobcats.
Over on the Appalachian State side, they’re 5-11 this year. The Mountaineers have lost their last four straight games, dropping to Saint Louis, South Alabama, Troy and Texas-Arlington in that span.
In the loss to the Mavericks, App State’s Isaac Johnson and Ronshad Shabazz each had 16 points to lead the team, combining for 10 rebounds and two assists as well. Tyrell Johnson had a good outing for the Mountaineers with his 12 points and eight boards.
Texas State is 4-1 ATS in the last five overall and 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 road games. The under is 4-1 in the Bobcats’ last five road games and the over is 8-2 in the last 10 Saturday games.
Meanwhile, the Mountaineers are 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight Saturday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall. App State is 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 6-2-1 ATS in their last eight after an ATS loss.
Texas State has been competitive pretty much the whole year, and haven’t lost by more than six points in any of their defeats.
App State isn’t quite so predictable, but the Mountaineers do have a good set of scorers on their roster who can put up decent points totals.
This one’s not so clear-cut, but I still like the Bobcats to keep it going and cover here.
