The Montana Grizzlies will travel to the McKale Center to take on the Arizona Wildcats this Wednesday night in College Basketball action.

The Montana Grizzlies improved to 6-3 on the season after defeating the North Dakota State Bison, 60-53, this past Monday. Montana trailed at halftime after a poor offensive 1st half, however, took control of the game after a 22-5 run early in the 2nd half gave the Grizzlies a 43-32 lead with 10:33 left in regulation. Montana held North Dakota State to 40.5% shooting from the field and 22.2% shooting from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Grizzlies was Jamar Akoh who had 17 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal.

On the season, Montana is averaging 74.0 ppg on 50.4% shooting from the field. The Grizzlies are averaging 8.1 three-pointers per game on 36.9% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Montana has been led by Jamar Akoh (15.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 1.7 apg, 1.3 spg), Ahmaad Rorie (14.3 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 3.6 apg), Michael Oguine (13.8 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 2.7 apg, 1.1 spg), and Sayeed Pridgett (13.6 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.7 spg).

Defensively, Montana is holding their opponents to an average of 67.7 ppg on 42.2% shooting from the field. The Grizzlies have a rebound margin of -1.7 and a turnover margin of 1.9.

The Arizona Wildcats lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 7-4 on the season after being defeated by the Baylor Bears, 58-49, this past Saturday. Arizona had no answers on the offensive end agianst the Baylor defense and couldn’t fight back after a 6-0 Bears run gave Baylor a 50-39 lead with 3:24 left in regulation. Arizona shot just 35.8% from the field and was outrebounded by Baylor by a 50-19 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Wildcats was Brandon Randolph who had 15 points, 1 assist, 1 block, and 2 steals.

On the season, Arizona is averaging 75.5 ppg on 44.9% shooting from the field. The Wildcats are averaging 7.7 three-pointers per game on 33.3% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, the Wildcats have been led by Brandon Randolph (16.9 ppg, 2.8 rpg), Brandon Williams (11.9 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 4.0 apg, 1.0 spg), Chase Jeter (11.8 ppg, 7.3 rpg), and Justin Coleman (11.0 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 3.2 apg, 1.1 spg).

Defensively, Arizona is holding their opponents to an average of 67.5 ppg on 42.8% shooting from the field. The Wildcats have a rebound margin of -0.8 and a turnover margin of 4.0.

The Grizzlies are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win and 0-8 ATS in their last 8 road games. The Wildcats are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss however, are just 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. Big Sky opponents.

Montana has struggled ATS on the road however, this is still a very solid team that ranks T-86th in scoring defense and rank 10th in FG%. Arizona has lost 4 of their last 7 games and have shown that they can struggle offensively as they rank just T-212th in 3P-FG% and 259th in assists per game. Arizona is a tough place to play, however, I think Montana has the talent to give the Wildcats some trouble in this one and I’m going to take the Grizzlies and the points.

Pick:
Montana Grizzlies +8.5
