The Line: Arkansas State Red Wolves +1 -- Over/Under:
The Eastern Illinois Panthers and the Arkansas State Red Wolves will be meeting up in college basketball activity on Saturday from US Cellular Center.
Eastern Illinois comes into this game at 2-2 on the year. The Panthers fell in their first two games to Texas (71-59) and IUPUI (71-65) but then took out Western Illinois (68-66) and Gardner-Webb 79-68.
In the Bulldogs game, EIU’s lead scorer was Josiah Wallace with 22 points and six rebounds. The Panthers also got a nice effort from Mack Smith’s 13 points and Rade Kukobat’s 12 points and eight rebounds.
Over on the Arkansas State side, they’re 1-3 on the season. The Wolves fell to ACU in their opener, then beat Missouri Baptist 89-54. Arkansas State then dropped games to Grand Canyon and UNCW.
In the UNCW matchup, Arkansas State’s lead scorer was Marquis Eaton with 19 points and three boards. Canberk Kus was the only other Red Wolves player in double figures with 14 points.
The Panthers are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four Saturday games and 3-0-1 ATS in their last four overall. EIU is 2-5 ATS in their last seven neutral-site games and 3-0-1 ATS in their last four non-conference games.
Meanwhile, the Wolves are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 non-conference games and 7-23 ATS in their last 30 neutral-site games. Arkansas State is 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 versus the OVC and the over is 11-2 in their last 13 overall.
If you’re an EIU fan, these last two games have likely left you with a heart condition because the Panthers have won by just three combined points in those two matchups.
As for the Wolves, they’re searching for an identity right now and not scoring so well. I’m likely going with the Panthers here.
