The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks and the Arkansas State Red Wolves meet in college basketball action from ASU Convocation Center on Wednesday.
Louisiana-Monroe enters this one at 7-18 so far. The Warhawks are just 1-11 in their last 12 games, with a win over Troy coming before their most recent loss to South Alabama Saturday.
In the loss to the Jaguars, Louisiana-Monroe’s Michael Ertel topped the team on 13 points, and Chris Efretuei had 11 rebounds and seven points. Tyree White added 10 rebounds, four assists and six points there as well.
Over on the Arkansas State side, they’re 15-12 this year. The Red Wolves are on a five-game losing streak, falling to App State, Coastal Carolina, Little Rock, TX-Arlington and Texas State.
In the loss to the Bobcats, Arkansas State’s Caleb Fields led the way on 19 points with three assists and two rebounds. Jerry Johnson added 14 points with six rebounds and four assists in that one as well for the Red Wolves.
LA-Monroe is 0-6 ATS in road games after scoring 60 points or fewer this season and AR State is 17-8 ATS in all games this season. The Red Wolves are 4-2 ATS versus LA-Monroe over the last three seasons and 4-2 straight up over the last three seasons.
Four of six games in this series have gone under the total over the last three seasons and the Warhawks are 1-9 ATS after allowing 60 points or less over the last three seasons.
Louisiana-Monroe’s recent record looks pretty ugly—and it is—but over the last four games they’ve been competitive at least. Along with the win over Troy, the Warhawks were within one of South Alabama and two of Georgia Southern.
As for the Red Wolves, they’ve been pretty unimpressive themselves lately, but they’ve been hanging around in games as well. There’s not a ton of intrigue here, but I’m going to take Arkansas State.
