The Texas State Bobcats battle the Arkansas State Red Wolves in Sun Belt college basketball action.

The Texas State Bobcats are winners of two straight after a 65-57 victory versus Coastal Carolina as a seven point home favorite on Saturday.

It was typical Texas State who turned to one of the best defenses in the game to contain the Chanticleers on the scoreboard.

Nijal Pearson topped the Bobcats attack with 17 points and three yanks with Alex Peacock adding 14 points and eight rebounds.

Texas State saw another 14 points and four pulls from Tre’Larenz Nottingham followed by Eric Terry and Jaylen Shead with six points each.

The Arkansas State Red Wolves need a change in momentum with losses in three of four after an 84-79 defeat at Troy on Saturday.

The Arkansas State offense came through with above average production but the defense couldn’t make the support hold up.

Red Wolves star Ty  Cockfield kept  the  team competitive  with 27 points with JJ Mathews adding 15 points and four boards.

Camberk Kus gave Arkansas State eleven points and four yanks followed by Grantham Gillard with nine points and six rebounds.

Texas State Bobcats are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win and Texas State Bobcats are 16-7-1 ATS in their last 24 road games.

Arkansas State Red Wolves are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games overall and Arkansas State Red Wolves are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 vs. Sun Belt.

Texas State Bobcats are 6-0 ATS in the last 6 meetings and favorite is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings and over is 7-2 in the last 9 meetings.

Arkansas State shouldn’t be completely overlooked although I still favor the Bobcats…

Texas State -5

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
