Arkansas State Red Wolves -1 O/U: 148.5
The Troy Trojans and the Arkansas State Red Wolves will match up on the college basketball court Saturday.
Troy enters this matchup at 8-7 on the year so far. The Trojans are just 1-2 over their last three games, with a win against Appalachian State in between losses to Coastal Carolina and Little Rock.
In the loss to Little Rock, Troy’s lead scorer was Jordon Varnado, who doubled up with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Alex Hicks was the only other Trojans player with a double-figure table, hauling in 11 rebounds alongside his eight points.
Over on the Arkansas State side, they’re 8-8 this season. The Red Wolves have won three of their last four games, falling to LA-Monroe but taking out Harding, Louisiana and South Alabama otherwise.
In the win over the Jaguars, Arkansas State’s Ty Cockfield led the way on 22 points, four rebounds and two assists. Marquis Eaton also had a nice line for the Wolves in that one with 18 points, four rebounds and one assist.
The Trojans are 2-5 ATS in their last seven Saturday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven following an ATS loss. The Trojans are 0-4 ATS in their last four overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four versus the Sun Belt.
Meanwhile, the Red Wolves are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 following a straight-up win. Arkansas State is 1-4 ATS in their last five Saturday games and the under is 4-1 in their last five home games.
Troy has shown some flashes of potentially becoming a relevant team this year, but consistency-wise they just haven’t put everything together—as evidenced by their 59-point total versus Little Rock in a game that should have been much closer.
As for Arkansas State, they’ve gotten their collective game together a bitt better as of late, so I’m going to stick with the Red Wolves on the cover here.
