Auburn Tigers -8.5 O/U: 135
The Missouri Tigers and the Auburn Tigers will meet up on the college basketball court Thursday in the SEC Tournament.
Missouri comes into this one at 14-16 overall this year. The Tigers have won three of their last four games, including Wednesday’s first-round tournament matchup versus Georgia 71-61.
In Wednesday’s victory, Missouri’s lead scorer was Jordan Geist on 30 points with five rebounds, one assist and two steals. Xavier Pinson added 15 points with three rebounds for Missouri in that one as well.
Over on the Auburn side, they’re 22-9 this year. Auburn has won their last four consecutive games since falling to Kentucky February 23, taking out Georgia, MS State, Alabama and Tennessee.
In the win over the Volunteers, Auburn’s Chuma Okeke led the team with 22 points and five rebounds. Bryce Brown and Jared Harper each added 16 points for the Tigers there, along with a combined 10 assists and six boards.
Missouri is 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall and 5-2 ATS in their last seven versus the SEC. Missouri is also 3-7 ATS in their last 10 versus a team with a winning percentage above .600 and they’re 1-5 ATS in their last six Thursday games.
Meanwhile, Auburn is 5-1 ATS in their last six Thursday games and the under is 6-2 in their last eight neutral-site games. The over is 4-0 in the last two meetings between these teams.
Auburn is a plucky team this year, and they’ve gotten national respect due to their solid play—even though it may have taken a lot of people some time to come around. The Tigers came back from a 41-35 halftime deficit to dispatch the Vols, and since the Kentucky loss the Tigers have gotten back to proving they can share the court with anyone.
I don’t foresee Auburn running into a whole lot of issues with this game, even though Missouri has shown some moxie lately, so I’m going to stick with the Tigers (Auburn) on a cover.
