The Belmont Bruins and the Austin Peay Governors will meet up in college basketball activity on Saturday.

Belmont enters this game with a 14-4 mark on the year. The Bruins are 6-1 in their last seven, falling to JSU but otherwise toppling TN Tech, Morehead State, Eastern KY, TN State and Murray State.

In the win over the Racers, Belmont’s Kevin McClain led the way with 23 points, four rebounds and four assists. Nick Muszynski added 20 points, six assists and four rebounds for the Bruins in that one, and Dylan Windler hauled in 13 rebounds.

Over on the Austin Peay side, they’re 14-6 this season. The Governors are also 6-1 in their last seven, falling to Eastern Illinois and beating Eastern KY, Morehead State, SEMO, TN-Martin, SIUE and TN State in that time.

In the victory versus the Tigers, Austin Peay’s lead scorers were Chris Porter-Bunton, Zach Glotta and Jarrett Givens, each with 15 points. Terry Taylor doubled up for the Governors in that one with 14 points and 10 boards.

The Bruins are 4-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five following a straight-up win. Belmont is 4-1 in the last five overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the OVC.

Meanwhile, the Governors are 6-0 ATS in their last six home games and 9-2 ATS in their last 11 overall. Austin Peay is 5-2 ATS in their last seven versus the OVC and 13-6 ATS in their last 19 Saturday games.

Belmont is in a pretty nice groove right now aside from the 91-80 loss to a good Jacksonville State team, and the Bruins’ margins of victory have been pretty sizable as well.

That said, the Governors are playing pretty solid ball these days also, and their home outings have been going well for them. I’m going to stick with Austin Peay on a cover here in what should be a really fun matchup.
