Ball State Cardinals -11.5
The Eastern Michigan Eagles and the Ball State Cardinals will match up on the college basketball court Tuesday.
Eastern Michigan sits at 6-8 on the season overall. The Eagles are just 1-3 over their last four outings, beating Siena Heights while falling to UC Irvine, Kansas and Buffalo during that stretch.
In the loss to the Bulls, Eastern Michigan’s top scorer was Elijah Minnie with 21 points and seven rebounds. Paul Jackson added 13 points for the Eagles and James Thompson doubled up with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Over on the Ball State side, they’re 10-4 this year. After falling to Evansville on December 9, the Cardinals have won their last four against Valparaiso, Howard, Delaware State and Toledo.
In the win over Toledo, Ball State guard Tayler Persons managed 21 points with three rebounds and three assists. Tahjal Teague also had a great game for the Cards with 20 points, 12 rebounds and two assists while Trey Moses added 17 points and five rebounds.
The Eagles are 7-1 ATS in their last eight versus the MAC and 1-10 ATS in their last 11 overall. Eastern Michigan is 0-4 ATS in their last four after an ATS loss and 0-6 ATS in their last six road games.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals are 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five following an ATS win. Ball State is 13-6 ATS in their last 19 Tuesday games and 1-5 ATS in their last six versus the MAC.
It’s been a pretty rough stretch of games for the Eagles, as they’ve faced three ranked teams over their last seven outings. That said, EMU has been wildly inconsistent on the offensive side even against opponents closer in stature—an older but still relevant example of which is their 36-point total versus Rutgers on November 19.
With the points totals Ball State has been putting up lately, I can’t find a whole lot of reasons not to take the Cardinals here.
