The Evansville Purple Aces take the floor against the Ball State Cardinals in non-conference college basketball action.
The Evansville Purple Aces were strong at both ends of the floor in an 85-63 rout of visiting Texas Southern. Evansville took a nine point lead in to the break and slowly pulled away behind a 46.9%-32.4% shooting edge including a 10-22 performance from beyond the arc.
The Purple Aces received 20 points, four assists and three steals from Shea Feehan on 7-12 from the field including five long balls. Noah Frederking tossed in 16 points on 6-9 accuracy followed by Shamar Givance and John Hall with nine points apiece with Hall hauling in 12 rebounds.
The Ball State Cardinals ended a two game skid with a 94-86 overtime decision versus Appalachian State in the Charleston Classic. Ball State connected at 47.5% and held a 33-19 advantage at the stripe but the Mountaineers managed 13 more shots to stay competitive on 41.7% shooting.
The Cardinals rode the production of Tayler Persons who pumped in 29 points and handed out seven assists on 8-16 from the field and 12-12 at the line. KJ Walton gave Ball State 22 points and six boards on 7-11 accuracy and 8-10 at the stripe followed Tahjai Teague and Trey Moses with 13 points and nine points respectively and six rebounds each.
