Ball State Cardinals -5.5 O/U: 140
The Northern Illinois Huskies and the Ball State Cardinals will match up on the college basketball court Friday.
The Huskies come into this one at 14-16 overall. Northern Illinois has gone 2-1 in their last three games, with a loss to Eastern Michigan in between wins over Western Michigan and Central Michigan.
In the win over Central Michigan, Northern Illinois’ Levi Bradley led the way on 26 points with six rebounds. Lacey James had a big day for the Huskies there as well with 19 rebounds and 16 points for a double-double.
Over on the Ball State side, they’re sitting at 15-15 this season. The Cardinals are just 1-4 in their last five games, dropping to Miami OH, Central Michigan, Toledo and Eastern Michigan in that span.
In the loss to Eastern Michigan, Ball State’s Tahjai Teague led the team with 15 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Tayler Persons added 13 points for the Cardinals there and KJ Walton had 10 points.
The Huskies are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five Friday games and 2-7 ATS in their last nine overall. Northern Illinois is 2-7 ATS in their last nine versus the MAC and the over is 7-1 in their last eight Friday games.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals are 18-39-1 ATS in their last 58 home games and 8-25 ATS in their last 33 versus the MAC. Ball State is 3-13 ATS in their last 16 overall and 6-20 ATS in their last 26 after an ATS loss.
The Huskies’ win over Central Michigan was a nice confidence-builder, and it should serve them well heading into this one. Northern Illinois rattled off 89 points in that one, which they haven’t done in a long, long time.
I’m not wild about the Huskies right now, but coming in with a nice set of games under their belts I like them to take control here against a flailing Ball State squad. I’m sticking with Northern Illinois on the cover.
