Ball State Cardinals -10.5 O/U: 146
The Ohio Bobcats and the Ball State Cardinals will meet up in college basketball action on Saturday.
Ohio comes into this one at 8-6 on the year overall. The Bobcats have lost three of their last four games, taking out FIU and falling to Purdue, Northern Illinois, and Bowling Green during that time.
In the loss to the Falcons, Ohio’s Jason Carter put up 22 points with six rebounds to lead the team. The only other Bobcat in double-figures for that game was Teyvion Kirk with 17 points, two assists and three rebounds.
Over on the Ball State side, they’re 10-5 this season. The Cardinals had a nice four-game win streak going versus Valparaiso, Howard, Delaware State and Toledo but lost a tough one against Eastern Michigan their last time up.
In the 2OT loss to the Eagles, Ball State’s Tahjal Teague went off for 28 points and 14 rebounds to lead the squad. Also with a double-double for the Cardinals was Trey Moses with 16 points, 10 assists and five rebounds.
The Bobcats are 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 road games and 0-4 ATS in the last four after an ATS loss. Ohio is 0-5 ATS in their last five overall and the under is 4-1 in their last five versus the MAC. Meanwhile, the Cardinals are 4-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. Ball State is 1-6 ATS in the last seven versus the MAC and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 after an ATS loss.
Ohio seems to be a team that’s more comfortable holding their opponents in the sub-70-point range as opposed to a high-powered shootout. It makes sense, as the Bobcats have some scorers but not necessarily a well-rounded and dominant offense.
As for Ball State, they’re not quite a powerhouse on offense either but I feel like they’re a little more comfortable on the other side of 70. I’m going to stick with the Cardinals here.
