Baylor Bears -12.5 O/U: 140
The West Virginia Mountaineers and the Baylor Bears will meet up on the college basketball court Saturday.
West Virginia enters play here with a 10-16 mark. The Mountaineers have lost their last four straight games, falling to Texas Tech, Texas, Kansas and Kansas State.
In the loss to the Wildcats, West Virginia’s top scorer was Lamont West on 16 points and seven rebounds. Derek Culver added 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Mountaineers there, and Brandon Knapper chipped in 10 points.
Over on the Baylor side, they’re 17-9 this year. The Bears are 2-1 in the last three games, with a loss to Texas Tech sandwiched between wins over Oklahoma and Iowa State in that time.
In the win over the Cyclones, Baylor’s Jared Butler put up 17 points with six rebounds and five assists. Freddie Gillespie added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Bears there and Makai Mason put up 14 points with five rebounds.
West Virginia is 7-19-1 ATS in their last 27 overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six after an ATS loss. The Mountaineers are 0-5 ATS in their last five road games and 0-4 ATS in their last four versus the Big 12.
Meanwhile, the Bears are 5-1 ATS in their last six after an ATS win and 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine home games. Baylor is 1-3-1 ATS in their last five overall and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five versus the Big 12.
West Virginia just came out of a gauntlet of tough teams, and things won’t get a whole lot easter here. The Mountaineers have some ground to make up after they’ve failed to score more than 53 points in any of their last four outings.
Baylor’s not a super-dominant team themselves, but at home here and coming off a big win I don’t have much issue taking the Bears to cover.
