NCAA BB | Eastern Kentucky Colonels (9-18) at Belmont Bruins (20-7)

The Belmont Bruins look to flex their muscles against the Eastern Kentucky Colonels in an OVC college basketball matchup.

The Eastern Kentucky Colonels have shown a bit of potential at times which we saw in a 75-73 victory versus Morehead State which ended a seven game slide. Both teams sank shots in the 46% range in a game that was up for grabs until the buzzer sounded.

The Colonels received 18 points, five pulls and four blocks from Nick Mayo with Jacquess Hobbs and Zach Charles netting 15 points apiece. DeAndre Dishman gave Eastern Kentucky 13 points and nine rebounds while Peyton Broughton chipped in with eight points.

The Belmont Bruins are once again the favorite in the Ohio Valley as the team has generally been in cruise control. Belmont bounced back from a rare loss to squeeze by Tennessee Tech 75-70 as an eight point road favorite behind a 24-18 edge at the stripe which overcame their 36.7% shooting.

Amanze Egekeze saved the Bruins as he led all scorers with 28 points and ten rebounds followed by Kevin McClain with 15 points. Belmont saw Dylan Windler add 14 points and eleven rebounds with Burton Sampson tossing in eight points.

Over is 7-2 in Belmont last 9 overall and over is 7-2 in Belmont last 9 vs. Ohio Valley and Belmont are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 home games. Eastern Kentucky are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall and Colonels are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 vs. Ohio Valley.

Eastern Kentucky won’t sniff an upset but they have covered against Belmont in the past thanks to a boatload of points…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
