The UNLV Rebels and the Boise State Broncos meet in Mountain West conference college basketball action from the Taco Bell Arena on Wednesday night.
The UNLV Rebels will look to rebound after losing 3 in a row following an 82-65 loss to Utah State in their last outing. Clyburn leads UNLV in scoring with 13.6 points per game while Ntambwe leads the Rebels in rebounding with 6.1 rebounds per game and Robotham leads UNLV in assists with 4.7 assists per game this season. As a team, UNLV is averaging 75.1 points per game on 42.5% shooting from the field, 34.4% from behind the 3-point line and 68.1% from the foul line this season.
The Boise State Broncos will look to rebound after a 93-73 loss to Nevada in their last outing. Alex Hobbs led the Broncos with 21 points on 7 of 11 shooting with a pair of threes and a team-high 4 assists while Derrick Alston and Justinian Jessup each had 19 points. Alson shot 7 of 12 with 3 threes and a team-high 7 rebounds while Jessup shot 7 of 16 from the floor with 4 threes. Zach Haney added 12 points to round out the quartet of double-digit scorers for Boise State in the losing effort. Jessup leads Boise State with an average of 13.1 points and 2.5 assists per game while RJ Williams leads the Broncos in rebounding with 5.3 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Boise state is averaging 70.8 points per game on 46.7% shooting from the field, 34.2% from behind the 3-point line and 72% from the foul line this season.
UNLV is 8-26-5 ATS in their last 39 road games and 12-37-4 ATS in their last 53 conference games while the over is 8-3 in their last 11 games overall. Boise State is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 7-3 in their last 10 home games. UNLV is 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings between these two teams and 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings between these two teams at Boise State.
Boise State isn’t a team that I’m constantly looking to lay points with, but the fact is that the Broncos are a better betting option right now than UNLV, who have lost each of their last 3 games by 17 points apiece and who have been a solid fade on the road for a few seasons now. Boise State isn’t a world beater by any means at home, but they’re outscoring teams at the Taco Bell Arena by 7 points per game this season, and just given UNLV’s form, it’s either Boise State or a no play for me in this one.
