Boston College Eagles -2.5 O/U: 142.5
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Boston College Eagles will meet up on the college basketball circuit Saturday.
Notre Dame is currently sitting at 11-0 overall on the year. The Irish are skidding on a five-game losing streak now, falling to UNC, NC State, Georgia Tech, Virginia and Duke during that stretch of games.
In the loss to the Devils, Notre Dame was led by John Mooney’s double-double on 14 points, 11 rebounds and two assists. Prentiss Hubb added 13 points for the Irish in that one, and Temple Gibbs logged 12 points.
Over on the Boston College side, they’re 11-8 this season. The Eagles managed consecutive wins over Florida State and Wake Forest last month, but lost their last outing to Syracuse 77-71 on Wednesday.
In the loss to the Orange, Boston College’s lead scorers were Ky Bowman and Jordan Chatman, each with 21 points and a combined four rebounds and five assists between them. Jared Hamilton added 12 points for the Eagles in that one and Nik Popovic had 11 points with six rebounds.
The Irish are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games and 1-6 ATS in their last seven after an ATS loss. Notre Dame is 0-5 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 0-4 ATS in their last four overall.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are 4-0 ATS in their last four Saturday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. Boston College is 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the ACC and 1-7 ATS in their last eight home games.
Notre Dame is in a tough part of their schedule right now, and given their skid over the last five games, things aren’t looking too good moving forward. There’s not a whole lot to like aside from the UNC and NC State outings, where the Irish played tough and fell in relatively close outcomes.
I’m not thrilled about Boston College these days either, but I do think they’ll avenge that sketchy 69-66 loss to the Irish the last time these teams met up. With the home swing, I’m going with the Eagles on the cover here.
