Boston University Terriers -5.5 O/U: 148
The Loyola Greyhounds and the Boston University Terriers will match up in college basketball’s Patriot League Tournament on Tuesday.
Loyola is sitting at 11-20 overall this year. The Greyhounds are 2-2 in their last four games, with losses to Boston U and Army sandwiched between wins over Navy and Lehigh in that time.
In the win over the Mountain Hawks, Loyola’s lead scorer was Jaylin Andrews with 21 points, three assists and three rebounds. Andrew Kostecka added 19 points with five rebounds, and Casmir Ochiaka doubled up on 11 points and 11 boards for the Greyhounds in that one.
Over on the Boston side, they’re 14-17 this season. The Terriers had a three-game win streak going versus Holy Cross, Loyola MD and Lafayette, but dropped their last game to Navy.
In the loss to the Midshipmen, Boston U’s Tyler Scanlon led the way on 18 points with seven rebounds and six assists, and Max Mahoney added 14 points. Jonas Harper (11 points) and Javante McCoy (10 points; five rebounds) also provided double-figures for the Terriers there.
The Greyhounds are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four Tuesday games and 0-5 ATS in their last five road games versus a team with a losing home record. Loyola is 1-4 ATS in their last five versus a team with a losing straight-up record and the over is 4-1 in their last five Tuesday games.
Meanwhile, the Terriers are 6-0 ATS in their last six Tuesday games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games. The under is 4-0 in Boston’s last four Tuesday games and the over is 14-6 in their last 20 versus the Patriot League.
These teams have split their pair of matchups this year, with Loyola getting a home win 81-73 and Boston U winning their home game 72-65. That makes home court a very important factor here, and that will bode well for the Terriers.
Boston University has been on a pretty nice run lately despite the stumble against Navy, but I think Loyola can keep it close enough here to manage a tight cover. Should be a good game nonetheless.
