The Western Carolina Catamounts and the Bowling Green Falcons will be meeting up on the college basketball circuit Friday.
Western Carolina limps into this one at 3-10 on the season. The Catamounts have thus far fallen to Wright State, Charleston, SMU, JSU, Southern Miss, Wake Forest, Furman, NC State, High Point and Iowa.
In the Hawkeyes game, WCU’s Marc Gosselin led the way on 17 points and six rebounds, while Matt Halvorsen put up 16 points, three assists and two rebounds. Carlos Dotson chipped in 10 points and eight boards for WCU.
Over on the Bowling Green side, they’re 6-5 on the year. The Falcons have so far recorded victories over
In the Findlay game, Bowling Green’s Justin Turner led the way on 22 points, six rebounds and four assists, and Dylan Frye added 16 points with three assists. Daeqwon Plowden nearly missed a double-double for the Falcons on nine points and nine rebounds.
The Catamounts are 6-2 ATS in their last eight overall and 6-2 ATS in their last eight versus the MAC. WCU is 5-2 ATS in their last seven non-conference games and 0-5 ATS in their last five Friday games.
Meanwhile, the Falcons are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games versus a team with a losing record and 7-2 ATS in their last nine home games. The under is 4-0 in the Falcons’ last four versus the Southern and 4-1 in their last five overall.
Western Carolina has stood tall in a few games this season, but on the whole they’re just not consistently putting up enough points to be competitive.
As for Bowling Green, they’ve had a few duds here and there as well, but seem to be playing better basketball this season. I’m going to go with the Falcons to handle business here.
