Bradley Braves -4.5 O/U: 127
The Valparaiso Crusaders and the Bradley Braves will meet up in college basketball action on Wednesday.
Valparaiso enters this one with a 14-15 mark overall. the Crusaders are 1-4 in their last five games, beating Southern IL and falling to Loyola IL, Indiana State, Drake and Northern Iowa otherwise.
In the loss to the Panthers, Valparaiso’s lead scorer was Javon Freeman with 11 points, two rebounds and one assist. The only other Crusader in double-figures there was Derrik Smits on 10 points, three rebounds and three assists.
Over on the Bradley side, they’re 16-13 this year. The Braves have won five of their last six games, beating Northern Iowa, Indiana State, Loyola IL, Illinois State and Evansville in that stretch.
In the win over the Aces, Bradley’s Darrell Brown put up 19 points with two assists and two rebounds. Elijah Childs managed 13 points with 13 rebounds for the Braves in that one as well, and Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye had 10 points.
The Crusaders are 1-3-1 ATS in the last five overall and 1-3-1 ATS in the last five versus the MVC. Valparaiso is 1-4 ATS in the last five Wednesday games and 1-4-1 ATS in the last six road games.
Meanwhile, the Braves are 4-0 ATS in the last four Wednesday games and 6-13 ATS in the last 19 after a straight-up win. Bradley is 3-9 ATS in their last 12 home games and the under is 13-6 in their last 19 versus the MVC.
Valparaiso really couldn’t get close to Northern Iowa in their last game, and fell behind 30-23 after the first half. The Crusaders would finish with just 53 points, continuing a really sketchy run of outings for them.
That said, Bradley’s had their own offensive issues and only managed 50 points the last time these teams met up. I am hesitantly taking Valparaiso to keep pace here, but likely staying away.
