NCAA BB | Colgate Red Raiders (19-12) at Bucknell Bison (24-9)

The college basketball championship of the Patriot League feature a matchup between the Bucknell Bison and the Colgate Red Raiders.

The Colgate Red Raiders earned a spot in the Patriot League title game with a 62-55 win versus Holy Cross.  Colgate struggled to find their offense and defense with the Crusaders winning the shooting battle 50%-32.1% while the Red Raiders totaled 14 more shots and held a 19-4 edge at the stripe.

Colgate didn’t have many options at the offensive end but Will Rayman carried the load with a game high 22 points and seven rebounds on 6-14 and 7-8 at the line while Jordan Swopshire and Dana Batt tossed in eight points each and combined for 12 rebounds.

The Bucknell Bison had an easy go of it in their 90-59 semifinal victory versus the Boston U Terriers. Bucknell jumped to a 23 point lead heading to the locker room and never looked back behind a huge 58.9%-37.3% edge in marksmanship.

The Bison received a game high 26 points from Stephen Brown on 9-13 and 7-7 at the line. Nana Foulland gave Bucknell 14 points and eight rebounds while Kimbal McKenzie followed with eleven points on 6-9.

Colgate are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and Colgate are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. Patriot League. Over is 4-1 in Bucknell last 5 overall and over is 4-1-1 in Bucknell last 6 home games and over is 4-1 in Bucknell last 5 vs. Patriot League.

The spread is sizeable as expected and that’s because Bucknell is fully capable of winning by 20.  I’m just taking the points and looking for a respectable effort fro overmatched Colgate…

Colgate +9

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
