Buffalo Bulls -6.5 O/U: 156
The Arizona State Sun Devils and the Buffalo Bulls will match up on the college basketball court in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament Friday.
Arizona State enters this matchup with a 23-10 mark overall. The Sun Devils managed a win over UCLA in the Pac-12 Tournament, but fell to Oregon to end their conference quest. Arizona State did get a First Four win over St. John’s Wednesday, however.
In the win over the Red Storm, Arizona State’s lead scorer was Lugentz Dort, with 21 points, four rebounds and two assists. Zylan Cheatham also had a nice game with 14 points and 10 rebounds on the double-double for the Sun Devils.
Over on the Buffalo side, they’re 31-3 overall this season. The Bulls plowed through the MAC Tournament last weekend, taking out Akron, Central Michigan and Bowling Green along the way.
In the win over the Falcons, Buffalo’s Jeremy Harris led the way on 31 points with five rebounds and two assists. CJ Massinburg added a double-double for the Bulls in that one with 17 points and 10 rebounds alongside three assists.
The Devils are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven Friday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. Arizona State is 4-1-1 ATS in their last five neutral-site games and 17-7-1 ATS in their last 25 non-conference games.
Meanwhile, the Bulls are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 non-conference games and 19-6-2 ATS in their last 27 neutral-site games. Buffalo is 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall and 2-5 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up win.
Arizona State won wire to wire in the Red Storm game, and though St. John’s made a push at one point, the Devils win was never really in doubt. The O/U number is telling here; the Sun Devils should be able to put up the points and at least hang around with Buffalo.
I’m not super jazzed about Arizona State at all, but given a reasonably thick line I’m going to take them on the cover here.
