The Ball State Cardinals and the Buffalo Bulls meet in college basketball action from UB Alumni Arena on Tuesday.
Ball State comes in here at 14-11 so far. The Cardinals are 3-2 in the last five, beating Ohio, Kent State and Northern Illinois while falling to Western Michigan and Bowling Green otherwise.
In the loss to the Falcons, Ball State’s Tahjal Teague led the team on 21 points with eight rebounds and three assists. Jarron Coleman added 17 points and nine reboudns, and Ishmael El-Amin had 16 points.
Over on the Bulls’ side, they’re 16-9 on the year. After falling in consecutive games to Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan, Buffalo has won their last pair versus Central Michigan and Toledo.
In the win over the Rockets, Buffalo’s Jayvon Graves posted 27 points with five assists and three rebounds. Josh Mballa added 12 points with six rebounds there, and Jeenathan Williams had 12 points and four rebounds.
Ball State is 11-21 ATS veers conference opponents over the last two seasons and 10-21 ATS after a conference game over the last two seasons. The Cardinals are 6-18 ATS off a loss versus a conference rival over the last three seasons and 4-14 ATS when playing against a team with a winning record after 15 or more games over the last two seasons.
Buffalo is 2-1 ATS versus Ball State over the last three seasons and 2-1 straight up versus BAll State over the last three seasons. Two of three games in this series have gone under the total in the last three seasons as well.
Ball State hasn’t exactly been exploding on offense lately; the Cardinals had a six-game run with 66 points or fewer before scoring 71 in a six-point loss to Bowling Green. That’s led to a 3-4 record over their last seven.
As for Buffalo, they’ve had their hits and misses lately, but more often than not they finish on the right side of 70 points this year. This one might be close initially but I like the Bulls to pull away and cover.
