The Central Michigan Chippewas and the Buffalo Bulls meet in college basketball MAC-tion from the Alumni Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The Central Michigan Chippewas come into this game looking to build on back-to-back wins after an 85-64 win over Western Michigan in their last outing. Larry Austin Jr. led the Chippewas with 22 points on 8 of 15 shooting with team-highs of 11 rebounds and 5 assists while Robert Montgomery added 16 points and Shawn Roundtree added 13 points with 3 threes. Dallas Morgan added 11 points to round out the group of double-digit scorers with 3 threes in 15 minutes as well. Austin Jr. leads the Chippewas with an average of 17.6 points and 5.7 assists per game while Kevin McKay leads Central Michigan in rebounding with 7.1 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Central Michigan is averaging 84.7 points per game on 46.2% shooting from the field, 36.2% from behind the 3-point line and 66.7% from the foul line this season.

The Buffalo Bulls will look to rebound after splitting their last 4 games following a 92-88 loss to Bowling Green in their last outing. Dontay Caruthers led the Bulls with 28 points on an efficient 8 of 9 shooting, with 3 threes and a 9 of 11 mark from the foul line along with 7 rebounds while CJ Massinburg added 26 points on 10 of 15 shooting with 4 threes. Nick Perkins added 10 points with 6 rebounds to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Buffalo in the loss while Montell McRae added 8 points and a team-high 9 rebounds. Jeremy Harris contributed 6 points and 8 rebounds while Davonta Jordan dished out a team-high 4 assists. Massinburg leads Buffalo in scoring with 18.4 points per game while Perkins leads the Bulls in rebounding with 7.6 rebounds and Jordan leads Buffalo in assists with 3.5 helpers per game this season. As a team, Buffalo is averaging 84.8 points per game on 46.2% shooting from the field, 34% from 3-point range and 69.2% from the foul line this season.

Central Michigan is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record. Buffalo is 9-3 ATS in their last 12 home games and 18-8-1 ATS in their last 27 games overall while the over is 49-17-1 in their last 67 games following a loss. Central Michigan is 0-5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings between these two teams and 2-6 ATS in the last 8 meetings between these two teams at Buffalo.

I was a little surprised when the line game out to see that it was as thick as it was. Buffalo should definitely be favored, as the Bulls have played well at home and have a dominant history against the Chippewas. However, each of the last 10 meetings have been decided by 15 points or less and all of Central Michigan’s conference road games this year have either been a win or a loss by 4 points or less. I just feel this is a lot of points to leave on the table as Central Michigan has the offense to hang with Buffalo, so I’ll take the points with the Chippewas here.

Pick:
Central Michigan +15.5
