The Line: Buffalo Bulls -18 -- Over/Under: 147
The Marist Red Foxes will take on the Buffalo Bulls in college basketball activity from UB Alumni Arena on Saturday.
Marist enters this game with a 1-3 record so far. The Foxes fell to Army in their opener 73-69, then evened it up versus Columbia 82-76 before dropping another game to Lehigh 78-72.
In Tuesday’s matchup versus SFA, Marist fell again 64-60. In that one, the Foxes’ lead scorer was Isaiah Lamb with 15 points, five rebounds and an assist, while David Knudsen also finished in double-figures with 10 points and three assists.
Over on the Buffalo side, they’re sitting at 4-0 so far. The Bulls have taken out St. Francis PA, West Virginia, Southern Illinois and Dartmouth over their first four games.
In the Dartmouth blowout win 110-71, the Bulls’ Nick Perkins led the way on 18 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Jayvon Graves and Davonta Jordan provided 16 points apiece, with 10 assists and six boards between them.
The Foxes are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four non-conference games and 3-0-1 ATS in their last four overall. The over is 5-1 in Marist’s last six non-conference games and 4-1 in their last five following an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Bulls are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 overall. Buffalo is 8-1 ATS in their last nine following a straight-up win and 19-8-2 ATS in their last 28 following an ATS win.
Marist’s record thus far leaves something to be desired, but they’re staying in games even when they lose. The Foxes’ largest deficit in a defeat this year is just six points.
As for Buffalo, they’ve had a couple of scares here and there but overall are chugging along nicely. I have to give this one to the Bulls, based on their offensive capabilities.
