The Brown Bears and the Butler Bulldogs will meet up in college basketball action on Wednesday.

Brown enters this one at 6-3 overall. The Bears have fallen to NJIT, LIU Brooklyn and Rhode Island but otherwise toppled UMass Lowell, Sacred Heart, Army, Salve Regina, Bryant and Navy this season.

In the Midshipmen game, Brown’s Desmond Cambridge led the team on 29 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Joshua Howard added 13 points, five rebounds and two assists for the Bears.

Over on the Butler side, they’re 5-2 this season. The Bulldogs have taken out Miami OH, Detroit, Middle Tennessee, Mississippi and Florida but suffered losses to Dayton and Saint Louis this year.

In the Billikens game, Butler’s Sean McDermott logged 12 points to lead the team, and Aaron Thompson was the only other Bulldog in double-figures with 11 points alongside two rebounds and two assists.

The Bears are 5-2 ATS in their last seven versus the Big East and 3-8-2 ATS in their last 13 overall. Brown is 3-9 ATS in their last 12 following an ATS win and 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven road games.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 2-5 ATS in their last seven following an ATS loss and 1-4 ATS in their last five Wednesday games. The under is 4-0 in Butler’s last four overall and 4-0 in their last four non-conference games.

Outside of a 71-51 blowout loss to Rhode Island, the Bears’ other two losses this year have been by just five combined points, and when Brown wins this year, they tend to win fairly convincingly.

As for Butler, they’ve been a little less consistent but have also gotten a few good wins over solid teams. I don’t completely trust the Bulldogs just yet, but I think they’ve got the talent to cover here.
