NCAA BB | Xavier Musketeers (21-3) at Butler Bulldogs (17-7)

Out at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Tuesday, the Xavier Musketeers and the Butler Bulldogs will be matching up on the college basketball court.

The Musketeers enter this game with a 21-3 record overall. Xavier has won their last six games, most recently beating Georgetown on Saturday. In that one, Musketeers guard Trevon Bluiett posted 31 points.

Bluiett is the top scorer for Xavier on the season as well, averaging 19.2 PPG and 5.6 RPG. Also in double-digits for the Musketeers are JP Macura (12.7 PPG; 4.3 RPG) and Keres Kanter (10.3 PPG; 5.3 RPG).

As for Butler, they’re sitting at 17-7 on the season. The Bulldogs have won four games in a row, taking out DePaul on Saturday. In that victory, Butler’s Kelan Martin managed 26 points to lead the way.

Martin sits atop the Butler stat sheet this year with 19.8 PPG and 6.5 RPG. Also in double-digits for the Bulldogs are Kamar Baldwin (15.6 PPG; 5.3 RPG) and Paul Jorgensen (11.3 PPG).

Xavier is 4-1 ATS in their last five following an ATS loss and 12-4 ATS in their last 16 road games. The Musketeers are also 23-9 ATS in their last 32 games overall and 5-2 ATS in their last seven Tuesday games.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall and 4-0 ATS in their last four versus the Big East. Butler is also 5-1 ATS in the last six home games and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 following a straight-up win.

Xavier isn’t overwhelming on the stat sheet most nights, but they’ve been putting up some nice numbers on offense lately. The Musketeers have 88 or more points in four of their last six games. Butler has been doing pretty well on offense as well, however, with 79 or more in three of their last four. This should be a fun game, and I think Butler has plenty of offense to cover here.
