BYU Cougars -6 O/U: 145.5
The San Diego Toreros and the BYU Cougars will meet up in college basketball action on Saturday.
San Diego is currently 18-12 this season. The Toreros are just 2-4 in their last six games, dropping to Pepperdine, BYU, Gonzaga and Saint Mary’s with wins over Portland and San Francisco.
In the OT win over the Dons, San Diego’s Isaiah Pineiro put up 28 points with 11 rebounds and three assists. Isaiah Wright added 24 points for the Toreros in that game, and Olin Carter chipped in 16 points.
As for BYU, they’re 18-12 this year as well. After a five-game win streak versus LMU, Portland, Pacific, San Diego and LMU, the Cougars have lost their last pair to San Francisco and Gonzaga.
In the loss to the Bulldogs, BYU’s Yoeli Childs and TJ Haws were the only players on the team to register in double figures. Each player had 18 points apiece for the Cougars, with a combined nine assists and 10 rebounds.
San Diego is 6-2 ATS in their last eight versus a team with a winning straight-up record and 2-6 ATS in their last eight after a straight-up win. The under is 5-1 in the Toreros’ last six Saturday games and 4-1 in their last five after a straight-up win.
Meanwhile, the Cougars are 5-1 ATS in their last six after an ATS loss and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 Saturday games. The under is 4-1 in BYU’s last five Saturday games and 8-3 in their last 11 overall.
The Toreros blew a second-half lead on the road against the Dons, but were able to eke by for a big win in overtime 91-90. San Diego will need that momentum here, as they lost at home the last time these teams met up 88-82.
Considering BYU has been on a pretty good scoring run over their last four (aside from that Gonzaga game), I like the Cougars at home here.
