Cal Poly Mustangs +12 O/U: 129.5
The UC Irvine Anteaters and the Cal Poly Mustangs will meet up on the college basketball court Thursday.
UC Irvine enters this one with a 25-5 record overall. The Anteaters are riding an 11-game win streak right now, taking out UCSB, Cal Poly, UC Davis and UC Riverside in their last quartet.
In the win over the Highlanders, UC Irvine’s lead scorer was Evan Leonard on 14 points, two assists and one rebound. Collin Welp added 13 points for the Anteaters there, and Elston Jones pulled down 10 rebounds.
Over on the Cal Poly side, they’re 6-21 this season. Following a win over Hawaii late last month, the Mustangs have lost their last two consecutive games to CSUF and Long Beach State.
In their loss to the Niners, Cal Poly’s lead scorer was Marcellus Garrick with 30 points and six rebounds. Donovan Fields also finished with a nice line on 13 points for the Mustangs, and Karl's Garoza put up 10 boards.
UC Irvine is 6-0 ATS in their last six overall and 14-6 ATS in their last 20 road games. The Anteaters are 6-0 ATS in their last six versus the Big West and 6-0 ATS in their last six after a straight-up win.
Meanwhile, the Mustangs are 8-22-2 ATS in their last 32 Thursday games and 12-35-4 ATS int heir last 51 overall. Cal Poly is 12-39-3 ATS in their last 54 versus the Big West and 10-38-3 ATS in their last 51 after a straight-up loss.
UC Irvine isn’t necessarily the highest-flying team in the world, but they can put up the points when they’re so motivated. Still, the Anteaters have put up just 132 combined points in their last pair, so keep that in mind if you’re looking at the O/U.
In any case, UC Irvine took a 74-47 win at home the last time these teams met up, so the line here doesn’t seem too bad to me—even though Cal Poly has been putting up some nice offensive totals lately. I’m sticking with the red-hot Anteaters here.
