The UC Riverside Highlanders visit the Cal Poly Mustangs in Big West college basketball action on Wednesday.
The UC Riverside Highlanders improved to 3-1 in the Big West with a 75-71 decision against Hawaii as a 4.5 point home dog on Saturday.
This wasn’t decided until the final buzzer sounded with the Warriors holding a slight 55.8%-53.7% shooting edge but UC Riverside winning on a 13-25 effort from deep.
Dragan Elkaz keyed the Highlanders upset with 25 points and four helpers while Dikymbe Martin added 19 points and five assists.
Callum McRae gave UC Riverside 12 points and five boards followed by Ajani Kennedy and Menno Dijkstra with a combined 15 points.
The Cal Poly Mustangs have dropped to 0-3 in the conference following a 75-63 loss to UC Davis as a 7.5 point road dog on Saturday.
Cal Poly led by nine at the intermission but struggled over the final 20 minutes with the Aggies breaking free with a 53-32 second half run.
Mark Crowe was the top Mustangs weapon with 16 points, four pulls and three assists while Marcellus Garrick added 16 points and three yanks.
Donovan Fields gave Cal Poly 14 points and five assists followed by Kuba Niziol who contributed eight points and four boards.
