Cal State Fullerton Titans -9.5 O/U: 135.5
The UC Riverside Highlanders and the Cal State Fullerton Titans will meet up in college basketball action Thursday.
UC Riverside limps into this one at 6-12 on the year. The Highlanders have lost their last two games since beating Bethesda, falling to CSUN and UCSB in that span.
In the loss to the Gauchos, UC Riverside’s lead scorer was Ajani Kennedy with 19 points, five rebounds and two assists. The only other Highlander in double-figures there was Dikymbe Martin, with 16 points, three assists and four rebounds.
Over on the Cal State Fullerton side, they’re not doing any better at 4-12 on the season. The Titans have lost their last three straight games, falling to Washington, Hawaii and UC Irvine in succession.
In the loss to the Anteaters, CSUF’s Austen Awosika was the only Titan player in double-figures, logging 17 points and four rebounds. Kyle Allman and Khalil Ahmad each chipped in nine points for CSUF there.
The Highlanders are 6-1 in their last seven versus the Big West and 3-1-1 ATS in the last five overall. UC Riverside is 3-0-1 ATS in their last four after a straight-up loss and the over is 4-0 in their last four overall.
Meanwhile, the Titans are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Thursday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five home games. CSUF is 2-8 in their last 10 overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six after an ATS loss.
UC Riverside just hasn’t looked consistent in any form lately, and it’s showing up on the scoreboard—not to mention the win/loss column. The Highlanders could use some second- and third-tier scoring but they just don’t have it on the roster.
What bugs me about the Titans is that limp 46 points against UC Irvine—admittedly a good team—and it follows just 68 points against Hawaii.
I’m just not too high on CSUF in any matchup right now, so I’m going to go with UC Riverside on the cover here. The line is thick enough that I think the Highlanders can get in there.
