The Cal State Northridge Matadors take the floor with the SIU-Edwardsville Cougars in Saturday college basketball action.
The SIU-Edwardsville Cougars are scrambling to save their seas after an 89-73 loss at Washington State on Wednesday as a 14 point road dog. SIU-Edwardsville fell by 14 after 20 minutes and never were able to cut in to the deficit with Washington State holding a 50.9%-44.6% shooting edge with 22 more makes at the line.
David McFarland was the Cougars best offensive option with a game high 24 points and seven rebounds on 10-14 marksmanship including 4-8 from distance. SIUE received 13 points and five pulls from Brandon Jackson on 6-12 from the field while Daniel Kinchen and Cameron Williams tossed in 12 points and nine points respectively.
The Cal State Northridge Matadors are in the midst of a three game skid after a 92-57 defeat at New Mexico State on Wednesday as a 19 point underdog. Cal State Northridge trailed 47-26 heading to the break and continued to struggle over the final 20 minutes with the Aggies holding a 49.3%-42.9% shooting edge.
Lamine Diane starred for the Matadors, pouring in a contest high 25 points with ten rebounds and two blocks on 10-16 marksmanship and 4-6 at the line. Darius Brown II gave CS Northridge 16 points on 6-13 from the floor followed by Rodney Henderson Jr. and Michael Ou with five points each.
