Big West college basketball rivals the UC Riverside Highlanders and the CS Northridge Matadors tangle on Wednesday.

The UC Riverside Highlanders have just one win in the conference with struggles at the offensive end taking a toll. The offensive struggles continued in a 62-52 loss to the UC Irvine where the defense did well with 35.7% shooting allowed but that was a winning effort with the Highlanders hitting at 31.5%.

UC Riverside received 12 points and five boards from DJ Sylvester on 3-7 from the floor and 6-7 at the stripe. The twosome of Dikymbe Martin and Chance Murray netted eleven points apiece with Murray logging six rebounds.

The CS Northridge Matadors have also struggled with putting the  ball in the basket which has the team staring at next to last in the Big West with three wins. CS Northridge comes off of a 77-71 win at Hawaii behind a season high 65.1% marksmanship.

The Matadors saw the twosome of Tavrion Dawson and Michael Warren pump in 22 points each and combine for eight rebounds on 16-24 from the field. Terrell Gomez gave CS Northridge 16 points on 5-8 accuracy while Jaylon Pipkins and Lyrik Shreiner tossed in seven points each.

Under is 12-4 in UC Riverside last 16 overall and under is 32-12-1 in UC Riverside last 45 Wednesday games. Under is 8-0 in CS Northridge last 8 home games and under is 7-2 in CS Northridge last 9 vs. Big West and CS Northridge are 7-22 ATS in their last 29 home games. Road team is 13-3 ATS in the last 16 meetings.

Northridge won this matchup on the road as a six point dog and this is only a pick. Something seems off in my favor…

Pick:
CS Northridge 0

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
