Friday college basketball features the Canisius Golden Griffins hosting the Fairfield Stags.

The Fairfield Stags have dropped consecutive contests following a 61-49 loss to visiting Monmouth on Saturday as a three point favorite.

Scoring continued to be problematic for Fairfield which makes competitive performances from the defense losing efforts.

Taj Benning was the Stags lone double digit scorer with 12 points, seven boards and four helpers with Jesus Cruz adding nine points and three yanks.

Fairfield received eight points from Felix Lemetti followed Matja Milin and Wassef Methnani with eleven points and 12 rebounds.

The  Canisius  Golden  Griffins squeezed by  Saint  Peter’s 64-60  on the road Sunday for their third victory in four contests.

Canisius has to get the best efforts from both ends of the floor to succeed and the Peacocks were a favorable matchup for their defense.

Takal Molson carried the Golden Griffins offense with 21 points and five pulls with Malik Johnson adding eleven points, four pulls and eight helpers.

Scott   Hitchon  gave  Canisius another eleven   points  followed by  three  others who  contributed  4-6 points.

Canisius Golden Griffins are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall and Canisius Golden Griffins are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 vs. Metro Atlantic Athletic.

Fairfield Stags are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Canisius and under is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Canisius and road team is 15-5-1 ATS in the last 21 meetings.

Canisius is third in the MAAC and Fairfield is fighting to stay out of the basement. The MAAC is hard to predict with the numbers going everywhere so I’m staying away…

Fairfield +5.5

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
