Canisius Golden Griffins -8.5 O/U: 126.5
The Manhattan Jaspers and the Canisius Golden Griffins will match up on the college basketball court Sunday.
Manhattan is currently sitting at 8-17 on the season. The Jaspers have won four of their last five games, taking out Fairfield, Saint Peter’s, Rider and Niagara during that stretch of outings.
In the win over the Purple Eagles, Manhattan’s Tykei Greene and Samir Stewart led the team with 14 points apiece and a combined six rebounds with three assists. Ebube Ebube chipped in 11 points and four rebounds for the Jaspers there as well.
Over on the Canisius side, they’re 12-13 this year. The Golden Griffins have won their last three straight games, with victories over Rider, Saint Peter’s and Fairfield in that time.
In the win over the Stags, Canisius’ lead scorer was Scott Hitchon, with 21 points and three assists. The only other Golden Griffin in double-figures there was Jalanni White with 16 points, seven rebounds and one assist.
The Jaspers are 4-0 ATS in their last four after an ATS win and 5-0 ATS in their last five overall. Manhattan is 5-0 ATS in their last five versus the MAA and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five Sunday games.
Meanwhile, the Griffins are 7-2 ATS in the last nine Sunday games and 23-9-1 ATS in their last 33 versus the MAA. Canisius is 3-10 ATS in their last 13 home games and 19-8-1 ATS in their last 28 after a straight-up win.
It’s been a pretty nice run for the Jaspers over the last five games—the one they lost during that time was only by two points (51-49 versus Siena) and they’ve been solid defensively along the way as well.
That said, Canisius has been on a pretty good run lately as well, and with the Griffins at home I don’t think they’ll have a whole lot of trouble here. I’ll take Canisius on the cover.
