The Fairleigh Dickinson Knights and the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils meet in college basketball action from Detrick Gymnasium on Tuesday.
Fairleigh Dickinson comes in here at 8-16 so far. The Knights are 4-1 in their last five, falling to Merrimack while otherwise beating Wagner, Mt. Saint Mary’s, Wagner again, and Robert Morris.
In the win over the Colonials, Fairleigh Dickinson’s Jahlil Jenkins put up 21 points with three assists and two rebounds. Elyjah Williams added 14 points and seven rebounds there, and Xzavier Malone had 12 points with five boards.
Over on the Central Connecticut State side, they’re 3-24 so far. After losing four straight to St. Francis PA, Robert Morris, Bryant and LIU, the Devils won their last outing versus Bryant.
In the win over the Bulldogs, Central Connecticut State’s only double-digit scorer was Myles Baker with 24 points and two rebounds. Ian Krishnan was the next-closest with nine points and one assist.
Fairleigh Dickinson is 18-9 ATS after a conference game over the last two seasons and 8-1 ATS in road games off a win versus a conference rival over the last three seasons. The Knights are 2-1 ATS versus Central Connecticut State over the last three seasons as well.
Meanwhile, the Blue Devils are 3-13 ATS in all home games over the last two seasons and 3-13 ATS in home lined games over the last two seasons. The Blue Devils are also 2-10 ATS in home games after a conference game over the last two seasons.
The Merrimack loss at home was a bad one for the Knights, but in the two games since they’ve played pretty well and seem to have left that one in the rearview. Fairleigh Dickinson has also been at 72 or above in three of the last four outings.
As for Central CT State, they’ve posted some solid offensive games as well, but they’re also giving up points at a pretty good clip on the other side. I’m going to take Fairleigh Dickinson here on the cover if they can get their offense going.
